For our second blog in preparation to Speedcore Italia vs. No New Style 2, we wanted to give you an inside story of one of our main faces. Or actually two of them. So enjoy reading this interview with none other than the gentlemen from Klereherriekrew.
Jon and Kydon came across each other in 2014. Before that, they already made music, but this was mostly hardtek. They still use their old aliases Kytje and Ded4mp to do so. Soon after knowing each other, they started to make tracks together, which were all terror tracks. "After making several terror tracks together, we decided to attach an artist name to it", the guys tell. "This is how we came up with the name 'Klereherriekrew' (KHK)."
Both of them remembered their first contact with terror and speedcore very well. For Jon, this was during Noisekick’s Verouderingsproces, Noisekick's first terror party back in 2007. After that, he attended a lot of other parties as well. For Kydon however, it already was at a very young age. "I was 7 years old when I've got my first terror CD, Terrordrone 3. Since then, I couldn't let go off this music." On his 10th birthday, he was gifted a Thunderdome 1997 collector's box, which included a mouse pad he still has.
Been there from the start
Even before Speedcore Italia was a thing, Kydon and Jon already knew Muisz and Nekrosystem from parties. "We knew that they had a plan to set up Speedcore Italia, and pretty soon we received a message from them. They said that what we were producing was very unique and that we created our own style in the terror scene. They liked it even so much, that they asked us to join the Speedcore Italia family. Of course, we couldn't let this opportunity pass." Pretty soon after, they signed at Speedcore Italia and the rest is history.
"It's super nice to be with Speedcore Italia", they continue. "We are very happy about it. And because we have been there from the beginning, we have seen the brand grow and expand. More and more artists join the family, a lot of very cool merchandise has been added et cetera. They handle it very well and professionally. And they think in favor of the artists. Speedcore Italia is a nice brand where you are like one big family."
And when you say Speedcore Italia, you say the tunnel of the Mikroport Club. "The terror bunker in Krefeld is an ultimate venue for this extreme music style. The atmosphere, the vibe, and the sound and lighting during the parties are all great. For us, the Mikroport Club is one of the best venues for terror and speedcore events."
No signs of slowing down
Klereherriekrew already achieve some major milestones. The biggest of them has to be an easy one: opening the terror stage of Masters of Hardcore – Cosmic Conquest in 2023. They're still super proud to be able to play on stage during this huge event. But: "Every booking we have is another milestone. You always get to play your music and have an audience enjoying it".
Besides gigs, Jon and Kydon also made a radio programme. For about five years, they hosted their own show at UMX. In a studio in Den Bosch, they made this show around twice a week on Thursday nights, where they invited several DJs to come by and spin the wheels with them. "This was both tekno and terror/speedcore. We do miss this broadcast very much."
But they didn't stopped to start new projects. "We are currently working on several collabs, with different terror artists. Keep an eye on our socials to find out who they are." Another big project is what they're calling a 'Greatest Hits' album, with tracks from 2015 till now. "We probably want to release a terror CD and a speedcore CD on the same album. Other than that, we can't say much more about it yet." Cliffhanger.
Ready to party
Of course Klereherriekrew will represent Speedcore Italia during the upcoming event, in collaboration with No New Style. “It was a great success last year and we expect this second edition will be just as big, maybe even bigger. We are already really looking forward to it." As for No New Style: "It's a nice concept, with a fitting name. Just pure golden old early hardcore, terror, and speedcore, without any hassle."
But why should people visit this event, according to these veterans in the bunker? "The location, the sound system, the music, it's just perfect. This place always has a nice atmosphere. You always meet new people that makes everything just great. One big family under the same party roof."
Klereherriekrew concludes with the message to stay tuned for many new terror and speedcore tracks. They're also open for new suggestions and collab ideas, so get in touch if you have some ideas. And the final message couldn't be anything else: "And of course, MORE TERROR!!! MORE SPEEDCORE!!!"
