Producing a place for darkness

Just like the devil goes by many names, this creature from the depths of hell is also known by many aliases. But only one of them is the main face of death. For the upcoming first edition of MTMS - More Terror!!! More Speedcore!!! we decided to get in touch with none other than Hellcreator and ask him about the great journey he has made in music so far and what's to come.

How did you get in touch with hardcore and (early) terror?

That goes way back. My first introduction with hardcore was when I was five years old, in the taxi to school. The driver was looking for a way to keep me calm during the drive, but putting on standard radio didn't work. So she decided to do the complete opposite and started to play 'The Best of the Best Hardcore Top 100', with great results. I became calm and during class, I was continuously bouncing around, waiting to get back in the taxi so I could listen to more of it hahaha.

What made you decide to start playing/producing yourself?

Like the story above already indicates, I already liked music a lot since I was a young child. This evolved in me sometimes making mixtapes when I was 13 years old. For me, the main inspiration to make those was the song 'Sloop die Speakers' by Drokz and Neophyte. When I heard Drokz scream 'Waar blijft die nieuwe generatie?' (Where's that new generation?), I felt this as my calling to start playing myself.

You have a lot of aliases, what is the difference between them and which one is your favorite?

Poah! Now you're asking something. I think my early terror act Hellcreator is my favorite. It's my main alias and it always will be. The other aliases are mostly based on the fact that all of them have a different theme.

  • The Dark Sanctuary is my speedcore alias. This is where I can release all of my emotions, from anger and pain till sadness.

  • Master Key is my UK alias. I think crossbreed and hardcore techno are sick, because of the vibes and breaks.

  • Section-K9 is my alias for early hardcore. Simultaneously, this name is dedicated to my three dogs - Spikey, Laska and Lola - that sadly passed away (K9 as in canine). Laska was even my producing dog. I made a lot of tracks together with her.

  • And finally Gargoyle-X is my tekno and frenchcore alias. I just really like to do this kind of thing.

You are doing pretty well over the last period. What do you consider the best thing that you achieved?

Oof, there are a lot of things. First of all, thanks to Dr. Peacock, our collab was featured on the Thunderdome CD of this year. I would never have expected something like this. Another important achievement is releasing a track on Headfuck Records, my favorite label.

I'm also busy with my own event Underworld. This is going well too. As well as having great connections with people like the guys from No New Style and DJ Kaycie, which I'm playing together with more and more often. The same with my buddy Falco, which we are playing at the label of Dark Shark Industries. I'm also busy with my own free label called UGAR, which stands for United Gabba Alliance Records. And of course I'm proud of all the parties and festivals I'm able to play at. Special shout out to Team Gabber Events, I already experienced a lot of fun parties with them.

2025 is up at the horizon, what can we expect from you?

I'm busy with some nice projects. What's definitely coming is my CD album. This year it will be 15 years of Hellcreator, so that has to be celebrated. I'm also organizing more editions of Underworld, plus a new party concept for what will be my birthday event this year. Besides this, I already have a new terror EP coming up and I'm working on a lot of collaborations. For now, the final thing I want to share is that I'm looking forward to Hellbound. I'm on the line-up for their 30 year anniversary and for me that's really awesome!

Do you have any goals you want to achieve in 2025?

I would love to play at events like Ground Zero or the Tunnel of Terror at Thunderdome. Otherwise, I just want to grow with my business and have a lot of fun moments with everybody. Pushing the limits!

You already played at Speedcore Italia, how does this feel?

It's always fun actually! Valerio (Nekrosystem) and Muisz know how to create nice parties every time. I always have a great experience when I play for them. Also, the dedicated crowd is amazing. Especially when I played as The Dark Sanctuary at Deadtown 10, that was a unique experience in Krefeld.

You are playing at the first edition of MTMS - More Terror!!! More Speedcore!!!, what do you expect from it?

I think the title says it all! I know Valerio is really passionate about this, so it will be an amazing event. I will bring my heavy stuff with me, to go all in with a hard terror act.

What do you think of the combination of styles?

Really amazing! Because of the mix between terror, early terror, and speedcore, you have more variation, but it still keeps that nice vibe on the edge. I think it fits really well together and the sounds can strengthen each other.

Have you played in Club Rodenburg before?

Certainly! Multiple times actually. And every time it was another experience. Club Rodenburg always stay the terror hotspot of the Netherlands.

Why do fans of (early) terror and speedcore have to be here?

This event is going to be epic. I know that all the artists will bring their A-game. So if you like terror and/or speedcore, you definitely should check this out.

Any last words?

I want to give a shout out to my family, friends, acquaintances, and fans that always believed in me. As well as the organizers who gave me the opportunities to perform throughout the years. Also a big shout out to Speedcore Italia for the passion they use while organizing these parties.

Also, always believe in your dreams and make them come true. Nothing is impossible!

No better way to end the interview. Do you want to see Hellcreator play at MTMS - More Terror!!! More Speedcore!!!, then be there the 4th of January 2025. Get your tickets online.
