Terror with thorns

Passion for music comes from different directions. For example family, your environment or another passion. With DJ Rhose, it was a combination of this and more. And in this interview, she would love to tell you more. So let our main female artist take you on a journey.

My hardcore journey began at a young age. I think I was about 7/8 years old. My brother and sister already went to hardcore parties and were always wearing stuff like Aussies and Nikes. At one point, my dad started organizing events together with my brother, where I was walking around as well. So you can say, it runs in the family.

Because my brother played himself, we had some turntables in the attic. I was found there regularly, where I was really interested in this. The music did something to me. This resulted in me thinking: I want to learn how to play too! And so, when I was around 12/13 years old, I bought my own turntables. My brother was already well known in the scene, so at an age of 15, we were playing together at Multigroove in the famous Hemkade. I couldn't be anymore proud!

After the bud started to blossom

My music style can be described as dark, varied, cutting hard, and 1000 percent my own. Call it RHOSECORE if you want haha. I get my inspiration mostly from myself. I've always have a love for oldschool terror, doomcore, and industrial, so there will always be some influences from these genres.

As in 2025, a lot of great project are in the pipeline. For example some great collabs with several good artists. I'm also working on an industrial EP. And I'm going to use some older projects to turn them into three beastly new tracks! I also have purchased some new analog synths, that I can use, together with some other ideas, for a live act. This will be performed somewhere during the year.

Repotting

I joined Speedcore Italia through a booking I had in Germany with Terror Lines Entertainment. This is where I met Valerio (Nekrosystem), who was also on the lineup. Apparently he was watching during my set and really liked it! At the event, we took a picture together and had a good conversation. Shortly after that, I was approached by him and Muisz if I wanted to sign with Speedcore Italia. Still super proud of it!

For me, what characterizes the vibe at Speedcore Italia events are the people. It's super cool to see the real enthusiasts and bass hunters over here. Also the music that's played over here. The list of great artists at these parties in immense, and every artist has their own unique style. And finally, almost every time the sound system is incredibly thick!

Weeds don't perish

Deadtown is coming up soon and it's always a treat to play here! I always look forward to this immensely, especially since it is held in my favorite venue. The Mikroport Club in Germany is always a madhouse. Everything there is perfect!

My set at Deadtown 13 will be crazy hard as always anyway, I can tell you that. It will contain a lot of new stuff, ranging from oldschool terror to speedcore. And I know this power will also count for the rest of the lineup. Be ready for an evening of thick sets and live acts. See you soon at Deadtown!

Much love, Rhose!
